Lunch Run and #7

If I’m keeping track (which I totally am) having spent my lunch break logging a five klick run around the neighbourhood makes for all five days in June (so far) every day this workweek, and seven running days in a row.

I’m cheating a bit and backdating this post, writing the next day, on Saturday morning with my cup of coffee nearby, having slept in a wee bit and watching the rain drizzle outside. Day eight is going to be cold and wet. And likely day nine as well, even if the yard does need another good soaking. I crashed on the couch last night and watched an epic YouTube doc by an Australian guy named Beau Mile who documented a 650km run through a rough trail path with some historical relevance, running fifty to eighty klicks a day through pain and weather and transformative mental anguish, and my daily five klick laps seemed pretty paltry in the comparison. But the point is doing something, not do do equally, and having logged a great five klick run for my fifth day in June, feeling strong and fast through all of it, I can’t say that daily running won’t add up to something epic at the end anyhow.
