My new watch introduced me to a new metric this evening when, after pushing past my (first of many) weekly swimming distance goals it told me that my average SWOLF was 52. Like golf, a SWOLF score is something you want to bring down. And easy to compare as it apparently is derived from SWim gOLF, and is a comparable gamification of a swimming stroke count versus effort that creates a consistent way to measure swimming fitness and ability. aAnd a good average, according to my few minutes of googling it, is in the 40ish range... so 52 isn't great but beside the roughly one klick of swimming I've done this week, it's been two years. Measurable goals and a clear need to improve isn't a bad thing, huh?
