The power of new equipment to motivate was again put to the test tonight as I slipped into a new pair of sport trunks I picked up at the downtown mall earlier today. A new week and again I cranked my distance by a little bit more, adding another 50m onto my evening distance. It's only a little bit, but it will add up as the weeks go by. Mondays seem to be an ideal night to go to the pool, too, as I found myself owning a lane for all but the last couple lengths. I've been focusing on form as much as completion this last couple of sessions, and working to time my kicking and breathing and stroke to some kind of counting pattern: I'm not sure if this means anything, but it keeps me sane if nothing else. It's getting a bit easier every time.
