A couple months ago I looked at my Strava heatmap. It's a cumulative map of every run, walk, or activity you've ever logged in that app, and after 8 years or so of using it I've logged probably close to a thousand. The familiar routes glow red with hundreds of repeats. The races around the city pop out of nowhere. And various other roads that I pass by show me a kind of casual frequency of five, ten or dozens of repeats over the years. And then I noticed that there were nearby roads, roads just around the corner, where I've never ever ever ever logged anything. I've lived here for 18 years and never even walked down local streets half a klick from my house. So, tonight I did some remedying of that, and was thinking I'd make it my mission this year. To check in on the heatmap and try to plot something on every road in an ever-growing outward circle.
